Our community relies on STANLEY Healthcare’s Foresite solution, which uses state-of-the-art monitoring to help us proactively manage and anticipate our residents’ care needs.
Without ever touching you – or compromising your privacy – Foresite continuously monitors 30 different factors, including heart rate, respiratory rate, bed restlessness, gait, motion and activity, and many more.
This continuous monitoring helps us identify and address your individual risks for certain types of illness and injury. With those insights, we can make changes in your care and/or your environment to reduce the risk of a fall or other incident.
Should a fall or other adverse event occur, the Foresite technology also provides tangible information to yield a better understanding what led up to the incident. We can then determine the best possible course of action for treating any illness or injury and preventing it from happening again.
Technically, it is a 3D depth sensor. It is not what is traditionally referred to as a camera. It only sees ‘blobs’ of colors; the image is not detailed enough to determine if a resident is a man or woman or if they are clothed or otherwise.
There is NO ONE watching the depth sensors real time.
Uses a combination of infrared technologies to accurately capture video. The depth sensor projects infrared light, not viewable to the human eye, onto objects within the depth sensor field of view and then utilizes an infrared detector to recognize these light patterns. The light patterns produce 3-dimensional (depth) images that Foresite processes to form privacy protected objects, including human silhouettes.
These are routinely labeled as privacy protecting by institutional review boards due to processing only depth images and intentionally excluding RGB camera use (most familiar camera).
Yes – the vast majority (96%) of falls are alerted for by the Foresite system.
The bed sensor may show changes in heart rate and respiratory rate; however, it will not send real time alerts for heart rate or respiratory rate changes.
The sensors send data to a computer where it is analyzed for changes. No person is watching this data. The computer alerts our staff that there is possible risk of the individual falling or if an onset of a health condition is worsening so we can try to prevent either from occurring.
Yes – contact your Director of Wellness or other designated staff. We will share this data with you as we receive it so that we can together make decisions about your loved one’s care.

It alerts for real time events such as falls as well as predicting other changes in health condition such as pneumonia, COVID, UTI, etc.
While that is our goal there is never a guarantee of preventing all falls or illnesses, the system will alert us if there is possible risk of a fall or illness with the changes that put them at risk. We will let you know what we are doing to try to prevent the fall or the trip to the hospital.
Also, some falls and illnesses do not have early warning signs and these are unfortunately not preventable. But if a fall or illness occurs we will be able to share additional information about your loved one that we would not know without this system.
Nothing, the individual does not have to wear anything. We will let you know if we are alerted for a possible issue and will decide together what is the best action.
We will look at the data, assess the resident and speak to you and/or the physician to find out what proactive care we can provide.
